HCL today announced the launch of the ME Laptop M54, which the company claims is India’s first Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) star compliant notebook. The laptop apparently has a longer battery life and runs cooler because of the eco-friendly components in use.

Anyway, here are the specs of the laptop:

  • 500GB 5400RPM SATA II HDD

  • Win7 Professional
  • Integrated Webcam, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi
  • Integrated Fingerprint Sensor
  • 6 Cell Li-Ion Battery
  • Weighs 2.2Kg including ODD and Battery

Apart from this, the laptop also has a few extras such as EC2 for Data Recovery, SPLIT ME for splitting files up, and other security and privacy features.

The HCL ME Series 54 laptop is available starting immediately and is priced at Rs. 39,990.
