HCL Infosystems Ltd. has launched its first HCL Ultrasmart ME Ultrabook called the HCL Ultrasmart ME Series 3074. In an official statement, the company says that the HCL ME Ultrabook is one of the first devices launched in India to be powered by a 3rd generation Intel Core i3 processor.
HCL claims that the Ultrasmart devices are equipped with a super-responsive system, auto-resume in less than five seconds, and a battery backup of up to seven hours. This is one of the first 3rd generation Ultrabook devices from HCL and more such next generation devices will be launched soon.

The sleek – less than 18mm thick with metal casing – but powerful device is also supported by HCL Advantage 39 months' warranty. The HCL ME Ultrabook offers a Hybrid Drive version that is a combination of SSD and SATAII HDD. It has 3 USB ports and 1 HDMI Port, along with DivX11 support for HD content playback. The new-generation HCL Ultrasmart ME Series 3074 weighs 1.7kg, features a 14-inch WXGA, LED backlit display with a 1366×768 HD resolution. Available in brilliant brush metal grey finish, the device sports a 2x2W advanced sound system and a built-in multi -gesture touchpad.

The HCL Ultrasmart ME Series 3074 is available with Windows 7 Home Basic/ Premium and Professional for enterprises. The HCL ME Series 3074 Ultrabook comes with Intel 3rd Generation HM77 Chipset, Intel HD 4000 graphics, memory of 4GB DDR3 RAM (upgradeable to 8GB DDR3), internal hard disk storage of 32GB SSD plus 500GB 7200RPM HDD, and USB 3.0/ 2.0 connectivity. Some of the other features include 1.3MP VGA camera, HDMI, in-built microphone, 4-in-1 memory card user, Bluetooth 4.0, Integrated Wi-Fi and 10/ 100/ 1000Mbps LAN connectivity. The HCL Ultrasmart ME Series 3074 complies with BEE Star certification, which ensures a smooth performance with energy efficiency.
The HCL Ultrasmart Ultrabook starts with a price tag of Rs 51,990 with Hybrid Drive. Other versions available in the series are at an MRP of Rs 54,990 with 128GB SSD, and an MRP of Rs 52,990 with Hybrid drive & Idea Generator Tool worth Rs 12,990. The HCL Ultrasmart ME series will be integrated with HCL Touch, a 24X7 one touch after-sale service facility.
