Back in April, HTC had officially launched the Desire S and it featured Android Gingerbread 2.3.3 baked with HTC’s Sense 2.1 UI out of the box. Come October, HTC has silently released an over the air official update for the Desire S with the handset now featuring Android Gingerbread 2.3.5, along with HTC’s latest user interface – Sense 3.0.
Updated with a new ROM
The handset was great out of the box and now with the latest firmware and interface update, it has gotten even better. With this update, the Desire S has got a bump from Android 2.3.3 to 2.3.5 and also features updates in the form of a new interactive lock screen, new widgets, animations and the latest version of the Android market. Apart from this with the ROM update, there is an updated launcher, as well as access to HTC’s Watch Service.
It seems, HTC is one of the manufacturers to have got this Google support. According to a report by GSMArena, the rollout began on the 30th of September, and as of now is available only in the United Kingdom. No word on when the rest of the world will receive this update, is out yet, but we will surely keep you posted.
