The much-awaited and much-delayed HTC flagship is still not showing signs of being actually available. But those who have waited for over a month since the handset’s ‘launch’ will be pleased to know that Flipkart has put the phone on pre-order.
Here too, the HTC One is available for Rs 42,900, which is the same price another retailer has offered, as reported earlier. The pre-order listing says that the estimated release date of the HTC One is the 5th week of May, which means the handset could come out of pre-order by next Monday. It must be noted that unlike Flipkart’s pre-order status, Saholic claims to be capable of delivering the handset in four days after the order has been placed. You can read our HTC One review here.
HTC One is now also up on pre-order
The Taiwanese manufacturer has made a name for itself over the years by making great-looking smartphones, but if only they could also match it with a quick entry into the market, they would have had a winner and a phone that could rival Samsung and Sony’s flagship offerings in the market.
At this stage, Samsung and its Galaxy S4 flagship have pulled away in terms of sales, with the Korean company reporting that 10 million units of its latest high-end smartphone have been sold. HTC has been ploughing through a range of issues in terms of management (as we reported earlier today and yesterday) as well as retaining their top-tier status among suppliers. The sooner the HTC One is released in India, the better their chances of staying alive and relevant in the smartphone market.
