Huawei announced the launch of its two smartphones today – the Ascend G300 and the Ascend Y200. Huawei Ascend G300 is the first smartphone in the Ascend G series, and is aimed at the segment wanting feature-rich multimedia phones.

Powered by a 1 GHz CPU, and running on Android 2.3 operating system, Huawei Ascend G300 offers access to loads of apps through Google Play, and has pre-installed social networking apps such as Facebook and Twitter. Other features include an ambient light sensor, digital compass and FM Radio. Huawei claims that the battery of the Ascend G300 takes less than 120 minutes to charge fully, with high power charger. Huawei Ascend G300 is priced at Rs.13,490.

Huawei Ascend Y200 is the first smartphone in the Ascend Y series and is aimed at young customers who have social media access on the top of their wishlist. Huawei Ascend Y200 features a “U” form design with 3D texture at the back for better grip. Ascend Y200 is powered with a Qualcomm 800 MHz CPU, and runs on Android 2.3 operating system. According to the company, Ascend Y200 only takes 5 seconds to boot up. The smartphone comes with a dual-mic for background noise filtering, providing a better calling experience. Optimized dictionary, loud stereo speakers, a new UI and improved power management are some of the features of this smartphone.  Ascend Y200 packs a 1250 mAh battery under its hood and takes only 90 minutes to get fully charged with high power charger, claims Huawei. Ascend Y200 is priced at Rs. 8,190.
