Like we said before, Nokia is not closing the door on their Symbian ^3 operating system. In fact there’s been a leak of an all new Nokia handset running the OS. The leak sprung from China and the handset in question here is what’s been dubbed the T7-00.
Scaled down N8, Images couretsy – http://www.pcpop.com/doc/0/647/647015.shtml
From the look of it, the T7-00 is the Nokia N8, only scaled down in terms of overall features. It still features a fully sealed aluminum body form with tapering edges and ports on top. The handset will come sans the protruding 12 megapixel shooter and HDMI port in lieu of an 8 megapixel camera. Other features would include –
a 360 x 640 pixel resolution (size – i.e. 3.5-inche AMOLED most likely retained)
3G, Wi-Fi, GPS
Bluetooth with A2DP, micro USB 2.0 (hopefully with USB-on-the-go still intact)
The Chinese site also speaks of the T7-00 being equipped with an ARM11 CPU running at 700 MHz CPU with a dedicated GPU and support for OpenGL 2.0 on board. An aspect that hasn’t been mentioned is the storage space. I’m curious to know if Nokia will drop the 16GB capacity down to 8GB with external support via microSD cards.
There’s no official word from Nokia just yet so, we’ll just have to wait awhile longer to see the official specs of the device.
