Indian gamers once again bear the brunt of ridiculous pricing, as we’ve got confirmation that the PlayStation Vita will launch in India for a whopping Rs.19,990. And that’s the price of the Wi-Fi unit mind you; the 3G one will set you back by Rs.24,990 according to Game4U. Both these handheld units cost more than what a PlayStation 3 does today. But wait, there’s more. Each game on the Vita will retail for nearly two and half grand, which in case you didn’t know is the same as a full-fledged PS3 game. In fact older PS3 games that have now gone platinum can be bought for far less.

Will you be buying one?

Y U Noe like India PS Vita?

Granted the Vita is a powerful device, capable of rending some sweet visuals and our very own Sameer Desai was highly pleased with the Wi-Fi version. However, he too felt the price of the console was exorbitant and it’s obvious Sony isn’t going to sell a lot of stock, unless they bump the prices down of both hardware and software. If you ask us, Rs.15,000 seems like an apt price for this device, while software could be priced at anything between Rs.1,000 to Rs.1,500.

We’ll get you more on the Vita, once we get our hands on a review unit. In the meantime, do let us know how much you would play for this device in the comments section below.
