We’ve heard about HTC’s Facebook smartphones, but there’s been no official announcement about them. Anyway, it looks as if INQ has taken the lead and have announced two Facebook phones. Be cheery Android fans, as both of these handsets run on Android Froyo.
INQ’s Cloud Touch and Cloud Q are the two Android smartphones which will have Facebook features through and through. While the homescreen has a visual Facebook feed to check your friends’ status updates, comments and pictures, there are direct links to Facebook Chat, Friends, Messages, Walls and Notifications. There is Facebook Single Sign On, with which users can check out their favorite malls, restaurants and clubs with Facebook Places and stay updated on different happenings through Facebook Events.
INQ Cloud Touch and Cloud Q, mostly have the same specs apart from the fact that Cloud Q has a full QWERTY keypad and Cloud Touch has a Touchscreen. A look under the hood reveals the following of the two smartphones:
- 3.5-inch touchscreen for Cloud Touch and 2.6-inch QWERTY for Cloud Q
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, 3G, A-GPS
- Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP
- 5 Megapixel camera with 2592√ϬÖ1944 pixels resolution and autofocus
- Memory expandable up to 8 GB
Both these smartphones are powered by Qualcomm’s MSM 7227 processor clocking at 600 MHz.
There’s no mention on prices for both handsets but Cloud Touch will release in the second quarter of 2011 while Cloud Q should hit the market in the third quarter.
