Kevin Rose, founder of social news website Digg, says an iPad 2 announcement is imminent and will be made in the next three to four weeks, most likely on February 1.
In a post on his blog, Rose had this to say. “I have it on good authority that Apple will be announcing the iPad 2 in the next “3-4 weeks”, possibly Tuesday February 1st. The iPad 2 will feature a retina display and front/back cameras. If you're thinking of buying an iPad, hold off for now.” Retina Display and FaceTime, then. The only question that remains is “what happens when the iPhone 5 comes out this summer?”
Rumours of the iPad 2’s release and its features have been doing the rounds for months now. Right from it having a smaller bezel and a flat back panel, a dual-core processor to it even having CDMA and UTMS support, the speculation mill has been running non-stop. Strangely enough, a February launch date was rumoured back in the wee days of the last month.
After everything we’ve heard in the past few months, it’s a bit hard not to doubt the legitimacy of a rumour. Here’s hoping this one comes true though and we have an iPad Killer on our hands – its own successor.
