With the increased demand for LCD TVs, CRT Models have been replaced as a key device for home entertainment among tier-one and tier two cities around the world. The consumer expectation for LCD TVs has shifted from basic consumption to quality consumption of enjoyment and experience, with higher requirements from the product quality, effect, and value. With so many different Variants of Architectures available on the store shelf, which one offers most to the customer?
The answer to that question would be an IPS Panel. IPS (In Plane Switching) technology is one of the most leading LCD technologies in the world. IPS technology aligns liquid crystal horizontally to increase the viewing angle. This technology is mainly owned by LG Display Company. An IPS enabled LCD TV deserves praise for its ability to respond faster to moving pictures while ensuring that image sharpness is not lost.
The IPS Technology also solves a problem many users may have experienced, The user would have noticed that there would be some “water wave” after the VA LCD was touched by fingers lightly. Furthermore, in showing dynamic pictures, some of them stopped after being touched, former pictures were being overlapped together with the latter ones. The display was just a mess, and this is the so called “smear picture” of LCD TVs. In showing fast pictures, like racing car sports, there will be some “drag shadow” on the VA LCD TV sets, with clear reduction of the dynamic definition. With IPS panels one can expect excellent Moving Picture Response Time (MPRT).
IPS LCD has solved the dynamic definition excellently as well. To be more suitable to the flat display requirements of large LCD TV sets and public environment, IPS LCDs have increased the visible angle to 178
