Looks like the party is over before it even began. Nokia’s first device running their collaborative Linux-based Operating System – MeeGo – has been dropped before it was even announced, according to Reuters and their sources. MeeGo is an OS Nokia and Intel have been working on together.
Last month, there were rumours circulating of the N9 running a 1.2GHz dual-core Intel Atom processor, having a 12 megapixel camera and supporting LTE connectivity. Whether all of that comes true is now seriously in question. Even so, Nokia might just show off the unfinished device next week at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. They could also announce a different device that could end up taking over from the N9 as Nokia’s first MeeGo devices.
Were you looking forward to MeeGo and the N9? I personally am gutted at the possibility of this being true, because the more operating systems the better in my opinion.
