It’s that time for iTunes users again! Apple has released an update for iTunes on Thursday that is bringing along a revamped MiniPlayer, songs views and more features to the music player for desktops.
Version 11.0.3 is now available for both Mac and PC and you will be prompted to download this new update when you fire up the software. It now features a refreshed new Mini Player that shows your album artwork in a “beautiful new view”.
The all new MiniPlayer
The MiniPlayer now also has a progress bar built right into it, a feature that was sorely missed when Apple released version 11 of iTunes. You can fiddle around with the MiniPlayer settings to hide the player controls and show the album art. iTunes will now also allow you to see album art in the songs view too. Albums with multiple discs will appear as a single album.
Last but not the least, the iTunes update will ensure better performance improvements when you’re searching and sorting, especially if you have a large iTunes library.
iTunes got its last update back in February and added a new Composer view for music. It also addressed a lot of bug fixes, some especially serious ones where purchased items were not showing up in the iTunes library. These updates, though spread unevenly are moving towards making iTunes 11 a better experience.
You can download the updated iTunes for your desktop through a software update or get it from Apple's iTunes page. The update as usual is somewhere around 80MB in size and might take a bit to download.
