Women’s digital brand, iVillage and CafePress, the online hotspot for user-designed apparel and gifts, today launched the “Picture Your World” online photo contest to celebrate Earth Day at http://ivillage.cafepress.com/earthday/. When participants submit the photo that best answers for them, “Why on earth are you saving the planet?”, they will receive a free*, limited edition reusable tote and be eligible to win the ultimate eco vacation to St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.

“Both CafePress users and the iVillage community are active and cause minded. We wanted to tap this group of engaged and environmentally responsible folks and reward them for their efforts and encourage them to keep up their commitment to the environment,” said CafePress Vice President of Marketing Amy Maniatis. “By partnering with iVillage’s highly active community of green-minded women and moms – we are able to broaden our reach to engage an even wider network of socially responsible shoppers.”

“iVillage and NBC Universal, through ‘Green is Universal,’ are 100% committed to encouraging eco-consciousness,” said Michele Mitchell, Vice President, iVillage Audience Development. “We know that women are passionate about the environment, and our partnership with Cafepress enables us to begin a meaningful dialogue about the planet with both our vast community as well as new members, to raise awareness for Earth Day and green living.”

To enter, users can visit http://ivillage.cafepress.com/earthday/ until April 30, upload a photo and write a caption that illustrates their inspiration and passion for the planet. Each eligible participant will receive a free, special-edition eco tote from CafePress designed by Studio Number One, founded by Shepard Fairey, and be entered for a chance to win the grand prize giveaway, a four-day/three-night all-inclusive eco vacation for four to the Wyndham Sugar Bay Resort & Spa in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands. The prize pack includes air travel and complimentary accommodations in one of the resort’s CleanAirSM guest room, which uses Wyndham's PURE system to eliminate dust and other allergens. The getaway also includes a voluntourism excursion to Hassel Island through Virgin Islands Eco Tours. Users can view and vote on all the entries at http://vote-ivillage.cafepress.com.

In honor of Earth Day, CafePress is amping up its eco-activism even further with contributions to CarbonFund.org, the nation’s leading nonprofit carbon offset and climate solutions organization. For a limited time, “Picture Your World” contest participants will have the opportunity to purchase a selection of eco-friendly products on CafePress that feature their photo submission, including reusable SIGG water bottles, organic T-shirts and organic aprons. A portion of proceeds from these items, as well as from all Earth Day tagged merchandise available on CafePress, will be donated to CarbonFund.org.

At iVillage (www.ivillage.com), users can learn how to green their own environment, with great tips and advice on how to save both the planet and their wallet. The contest is part of 'Green is Universal,' NBC Universal's ongoing environmental initiative.
