The sales figures of Kinect, Microsoft's controller-free gaming peripheral, have managed to surge way ahead of those of the iPad and iPhone. The Guinness World Records confirm it to be the leader in the consumer electronics device space.
An experience like nothing else..
The hi-end innovation that enables the tracking of player movement is Microsoft's answer to other market players. According to figures with Guinness World Records, Kinect sold 133,333 units in the very first month of its sale (4 November 2010 to 3 January 2011). Both the iPad and iPhone couldn't reach this figure in the same time frame. The actual sales figures crossed the projected figures by Microsoft by a huge margin. Now that the iPad2 is here, and with the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play bracing for a UK debut on the 31st March, one can expect interesting developments to happen in this space.
