Lava has announced its entry into the quad-core smartphone category by introducing the Iris 458q with a 1.2Ghz quad-core processor. With the present observation being that quad core processors are what users want the most, Lava seems to have launched its newest model to capitalise on just that.
The Iris 458q is designed with a slim form factor with a curve bend and matte finish. The four cores allow the user to switch between multiple running apps. It runs on Android 4.2 Jelly bean operating system and sports a 4.5-inch capacitive touchscreen with FWVGA resolution.
The phone has Proximity, Light & G Sensor as its built-in sensors. It also packs in 512MB of RAM and 4GB internal memory, which is expandable up to 32GB using microSD cards.

Lava Iris 458q comes to the market with pre-loaded apps such as WeChat, Push Mail and Ebook reader among others as well as HD movies and games saved on the phone.
The Iris 458q comes to the market with an 8MP rear auto-focus camera with built-in flash. It also carries a front VGA camera for video calling. A 2000 mAh battery serves as the life support system of the phone.
The phone also provides users with 3G connectivity. As with all other smartphones in the market right now, the Iris 458q gives Wi-Fi connectivity as well as A-GPS.
Lava has priced the Iris 458q at Rs 8,999 and the phone will be available across all major retail and online stores.
