Camera company Leica has announced the launch of its latest mirrorless camera, the TL2. Leica announced the launch in a blog post on its website with many improvements for the second generation mirrorless camera. The TL2 comes with a new Maestro II series image processor and a new 24-megapixel APS-C sensor. It is priced at $1,950 and will be available at Leica stores starting today.

The camera packs in 49 AF segments for faster autofocus along with an ISO range from 100 to 50,000 for better performance in low light scenarios. It boasts a 4K video recording option in addition to the usual Full HD video recording. Fast-moving objects should not be a problem either with a 1/40,000 shutter speed and 20 fps burst mode.

The back of the camera packs a 3.7-inch touchscreen for users to control the camera. The company claims that the interface on the back is more user-friendly and easy to operate than the previous generation camera. It also packs a Wi-Fi module for users to easily transfer images to their smartphones, tablets or computers. Owners of this mirrorless beauty can use the Leica TL app on Android and iOS devices to transfer and share the images on email or various social media platforms.

The included USB 3.0 port can be used to transfer as well as recharge the camera. The TL2 supports SD, and SDXC cards in addition to inbuilt 32 GB internal storage. Also available is a built-in GPS module for users to embed GPS coordinates to the images that they shoot using the camera.

Leica’s TL2 comes almost three years after the launch of the first generation Leica T that was released back in 2014. It shares its design and main features with the first generation Leica T. In addition, TL2 supports SL-mount lenses along with M-mount and R-mount lenses with the help of adapters apart from the usual L-mount lenses.
