Foursquare announced its gift to iPhone users, in the form of a version 2.2. The latest update of Foursquare for iPhone allows users to comment on their friends' check-ins, enabling them to say that they're just around the corner. You even get points for commenting on your friends' check-ins, if that's the sort of thing that keeps you up at night. You can also leave comments from check-ins posted to Facebook and Twitter from the Foursquare website.

Under a tree, in the app store, it's still a gift

Other presents in version 2.2 include tips with photos, where you can add photos to the tips you add making them tippier, as well as a history page where users can see their own check-in history with photos and comments.

To have a better Foursquare experience, users are advised to turn on push notifications so when their friends send them a tip or a comment on their check-in, they're able to see it right away. Also, photos on check-ins are only visible to friends on Foursquare and other social networks like Facebook and Twitter. Photos on venues and tips are visible to the entire Foursquare community.
