Remember the iPhone 5 ad showing off the smartphone’s panorama-taking capabilities? You know, the one with a whole bunch of kids posing for a guy with an iPhone 5 who says “Cheeeeeese”? Well, it seems LG has been more than inspired by the iPhone 5 commercial and has come out with an ad that aims to show how much superior the Optimus G Pro's panorama-shooting capabilities are.

The LG ad begins like a re-enaction of the Apple iPhone 5 ad (sort of)—this time with a bunch of kids smearing each other with paint and then posing for a panorama shot. Just like in the Apple ad, the LG guy puts up a photo frame of the panorama shot and then proceeds to take another snap using the Panorama VR mode.

The Panorama VR mode allows the photographer to click an image with different positions, and then stitch them together, thereby making it one single entity. The Panorama VR feature on the LG Optimus G Pro features Google's Photosphere (upgraded, seemingly!). After the guy completes taking the Panorama VR shot, the older frame is replaced with the new Panorama VR photo.

LG recently announced the Optimus G Pro. The phone has a 5.5-inch screen with a full HD 1080p resolution and will run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon S4 Pro processor. The phone is set to be launched in Korea this month and will eventually make it to the rest of the world. The Optimus G Pro has a 4G LTE radio, 2GB of RAM, a 13-megapixel rear camera and a 2.1-megapixel front-facing shooter, both of which are capable of recording 1080p video, just like its 5-inch predecessor.

The back of the phone suggests LG has gone with polycarbonate or plastic construction for their flagship. A chrome ring adorning the camera lens also looks like a new design flourish. It is also said to have a thin side bezel and a slim physical home key underneath the display, a design trait left over from the Optimus G.
