Ever heard of an optical keyboard? Me neither. While not optical in the strictest sense when compared to a mouse, Logitech have released the K750 – a wireless solar keyboard that feeds off light to power itself. Yup, no more charging cables and the like. Before you ask, it does work indoors and when fully charged can function for three months in total darkness. There's also an app that you can get which will tell you if your keyboard's getting enough light for photosynthesis. There's even an integrated power-indicator light so you know its status.
The key features of the K750 are as follows:
- 2.4GHz Wireless
- Solar Power app will tell you about the light and battery levels
- Logitech Incave keys that use a concave design
- Very Light (heh)
- Compatible with Logitech Unifying Receiver
“The keyboard is still the best input device for typing emails and IMs, updating your Facebook page or posting responses to your favorite blogs — and the Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K750 is the next big innovation in keyboard technology,” said Subrotah Biswas, Country Manager – India & South West Asia. “The Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard is powered by light but can work in total darkness for up to three months. Plus, with its PVC-free construction and fully recyclable packaging, it’s designed to minimize its footprint.”
The Logitech K750 Wireless Solar Keyboard is priced at Rs. 5,995 and is currently available.
