Latest in the 3D space is eyewear that promises to make 3D viewing a pleasurable and thrilling experience. Consumer electronics brand, Panasonic has in partnership with XPAND 3D announced the release of a new standard for 3D-active shutter eyewear product.
Claiming to provide increased compatibility with 3D viewing in 3D TVs, home projectors, cinema projectors, et al, this eyewear product range have support from several known brands. Brands like Changhong Electric, FUNAI Electric, Hisense Electric, Hitachi Consumer Electronics, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Seiko Epson Corporation, SIM2 Multimedia S.p.A. and ViewSonic Corporation have agreed to adopt this new 3D standard.
Termed as the M-3DI technology, this will soon be licensed by M-3DI License Agent to enable a communication protocol between the eyewear products and the viewing mediums. Post the licensing procedures, consumers will have more control over the quality of the product, as also will unify the whole concept.
However, much can’t be said about the usability and popularity of this technology.
