Microsoft has announced the release date for the next Halo 4 DLC—Majestic Map Pack—along with some details. According to Eurogamer, the map pack will be making its way to Xbox Live on February 25 and will set you back by 800 Microsoft points, which roughly converts to Rs 550. The map pack is set to include three new maps, with sizes varying from small to medium. It is designed for close-quarters gameplay, especially with game modes like free-for-all. The maps included in the map pack are Landfall, Monolith and Skyline.

The DLC adds new Majestic DLC playlists and a new free-for-all game mode dubbed Infinity Rumble. The game mode entails special medal and style kills helping you earn ordnance faster. You can also earn assists off of enemy players for more medal points. According to Microsoft, “you must carefully conserve and use your ordnance at just the right moment, or combine power-ups with power weapons in the race to be first”. Death matters in the game mode, as respawn timers are slower. The game mode will be exclusive to the DLC playlist for a limited time.

You get to kill aliens and stuff

“What's a Warthog, sir?”

The other playlists are Majestic FFA DLC and Majestic Team DLC. The FFA DLC playlist is for eight players and the Team DLC is for four versus four matches. There are ten new achievements that total up to 250 gamerscore. The maps will also be integrated into existing Infinity Slayer, Capture the Flag, SWAT, Regicide, Doubles, Team Objective and Team Throwdown playlists. The maps will only pop up in the playlist if all players own either the DLC or the Wargames Map Pass.

The War Games Map Pass was revealed back on October. The Map pass costs $25 (approximately Rs 1,341) and will include nine maps in total that will be released between December 2012 and April 2013. The map packs are set to cost $10 (approximately Rs 536) individually. An added bonus for those who purchase the Maps Pass is the inclusion of two in-game helmets called the Scanner and the Strider, and an in-game emblem – the Falcon. The Map Pass was included in the limited edition of Halo 4.

Halo 4 was released back in November. The Halo 4 Standard Edition is for Rs 3,299 and Limited Edition for Rs 4,599. Developed by 343 Industries, Halo 4 marks the dawn of a new game series, the Reclaimer Saga, centred on the Master Chief as he  faces an ancient evil and a deadly new class of technologically advanced foes — the Prometheans. Master Chief sets out on an emotional journey fraught with personal demons and the most daunting challenges he’s ever faced. Featuring a darker and more personal story that reintroduces the iconic hero as a genuinely human character, Halo 4 sets players on a sci-fi voyage that will span the next decade of Halo games across a three part trilogy.
