Konami has released a new trailer for its upcoming game Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. Along with this, the Japanese game publisher revealed to Gamespot that the demo for the game is making its way to Xbox Live and PlayStation Network on January 22.

The trailer gives us yet another look at the game, where Raiden goes insane towards the end. He starts glowing red and speaking in a guttural voice, which alludes to a deeper storyline, maybe even consisting of philosophy on war and morality, much like Kojima's other games.

Recently, Konami had released a trailer that showed off the alternate costume DLCs for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance. The costumes include the popular cyborg ninja Gray Fox and the Metal Gear Solid 4 version of Raiden.

Judging by the trailer, the costumes don't seem to be adding any new moves, though it is notable that the game seems to be less bloody with the costumes. It seems like they will just be cosmetic changes and won't have any bearing on the gameplay itself.

Back in December, Konami had announced that the demo for Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will be making its way to PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE in January. While the demo is already available in the Zone of the Enders HD Collection, it isn't yet available without buying the game. The announcement was made over twitter. “MGR demo is coming to PSN & XBL for all regions next month! Can't wait? Check out the demo now as part of ZOE HD @ http://amzn.to/Uo2Ut5,” said the official Konami Twitter account. The demo can be downloaded over PlayStation Network and Xbox LIVE.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is set in the near future, where cyborg technology has become commonplace throughout society. Three years have passed since the collapse of the Patriots system that had been secretly controlling the global power balance from the shadows. However, peace remains elusive. The dissemination of cybernetic technology has triggered instability and conflict as those who control the trade gain increasing power. Furthermore, large ‘Private Military Companies’, or PMCs that had been supported and controlled by the Patriots have collapsed, spawning countless rogue entities with origins to larger criminal organisations. These renegade PMCs employing cyborg technology have become increasingly more disruptive, shifting policy and power at will. As a member of the peace-keeping PMC ‘Maverick Security’, Raiden lives by the mantra of protecting and saving lives. But as the world plunges further into asymmetric warfare, the only path that leads him forward is rooted in resolving his past and carving through anything that stands in his way.
