Micromax has extended its Bling line-up in India with the new Bling X44. The Bling X44 is a dual-SIM handset, affordably priced at Rs.3,000. Micromax ensures that the Bling X44 lives up to its name with the handset sporting studded Swarovski 'Zirconia' diamonds. Following on the footsteps of its predecessors, the Bling and Bling 2, the Bling X44 also runs on the Android operating system.
Yet another Bling from Micromax…
Sporting a bar design, just like the Bling 2, the newest Bling is an entry-level handset with a small, 2.2-inch QVGA screen. Its meager specifications sheet features a 2 MP camera, FM radio and Bluetooth. On the memory front, it offers 512 MB of internal storage, expandable up to 8 GB through a microSD card. It is powered by a 950 mAh Li-ion battery with a standby time of 248 hours and talk time of 8 hours. It also gives you access to Mi Zone and Mi Store for Micromax apps and content.
A quick look at the specs of the Bling X44:
- 2.2-inch QVGA display
- 2.0 MP Camera
- Stereo FM Radio
- 512MB of memory, expandable up to 8GB
In one of our earlier reports, we had mentioned about a preview website popping up for the Micromax Bling 2, the successor to the Micromax Bling Q55. Flipkart had the Bling 2 priced at Rs.8,999. The Bling 2 ran on Android 2.2 Froyo and embedded a 2.8-inch capacitive touchscreen that had a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels. It also came with 3G and GPS support, a 3 MP camera and expandable memory of up to 32 GB. Moreover, it served as a Mi-Fi pocket wireless Internet router. As you can see, the new Bling X44 is in no way an upgrade to the older Bling 2. It's actually been crafted to cater to the low-end, entry-level market.
While the new Bling X44 isn’t a high-end device, we’ve seen some devices adorn expensive stones and gems and, of course, hefty price tags too. Apple’s popular ‘i’ devices have been graced with expensive diamonds and other precious specious stones. Recently, Golden Dreams, the Geneva-based luxury design company, unveiled what it labeled as the world’s most luxurious iPhone collection, including a masterpiece studded with over 4,000 diamonds. Drawing on the traditional excellence of Swiss jewellers and watch-makers, the collection of unique and exclusive iPhones also includes gold and alligator leather covered models, obviously only for those of you who have a little change to spare. They had launched the Desert Edition, the Gold Edition and the Golden Dreams Full Diamond Edition. And then, late last year we came across the iPhone 4 History Edition. The back of this phone had actually been fitted with an actual meteoric stone and, wait for it… a real Tyrannosaurus Rex tooth. The makers had sourced the 65 million-year-old T-Rex tooth from Arizona, US.
