As per International Data Corporation(IDC) report on the Indian smartphone market for Q2 2013, Micromax increased in its market share from 18.8 percent to 22 percent.
Micromax increased its market pie and gained market share from competitors narrowing the gap with Samsung which, stands is still the market leader with a market share of 26 percent.
Micromax crossed the 2 million units shipment mark in 2Q 2013 and hopes to achieve $1 billion in revenues with its product strategy, distribution and marketing which will be focussed on the Indian youth.
Micromax has been among the first smartphone manufacturers in the country to capitalize on the rising migration of the user base from feature phones to smartphones with the Canvas series and phones like the Canvas HD, Canvas 4 and Canvas Doodle 2.
