Microsoft released its latest Windows 10 Insider Preview build for PC as well as for mobile, ahead of the stable version, the ‘Fall Creators Update’ due later this year.

The latest Insider Preview build for PCs is numbered 16215 and will be available for users in the ‘Fast Ring’ of the insider program. Meanwhile, Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 15222 has also been released simultaneously. The build introduces a host of new features for PC including a new notification centre, the ability to pin websites to the taskbar from Microsoft Edge, an overhauled handwriting panel, and more emoji support. The update for Mobile though comprises of mostly bug fixes to previous builds.

With the update on PC, Microsoft is bringing in changes to the Start and Action Center to what is termed as ‘Fluent Design‘. The Start menu now comes with the ability to be resized along with an Action Center redesign based on the new design system. The additions to Microsoft’s Edge browser include a full-screen mode and the ability to add annotations to books being read in the EPUB format on the browser.

Minor additions to Cortana, Microsoft’s voice assistant, include the ability of the assistant to go through the user’s camera roll to find event posters to which Cortana will help set reminders to. The build has also improved Windows 10’s stylus support by adding more editing tools, introducing new gestures, emojis, and even automatic handwriting detection. There’s also a new ‘find my pen’ option that shows where the pen was last used. Another noted addition is that the touch keyboard gets enhanced text prediction and one-handed keyboard support.

The new dictation capabilities have also been added, aided by a new dictation hotkey. Hotkeys have also been added for the ability to use emojis while typing in the text field. A host of other smaller tweaks and bug fixes have been added in the update.
