If you terribly missed not having the Microsoft Office app on your Apple iPhone, here's some exciting news for you. Office Mobile for iPhone is now officially available for Office 365 subscribers. The free app for Office 365 Home Premium and Office 365 ProPlus subscribers can be downloaded off the iTunes store here.

Julia White, General Manager, Microsoft Office Division, explains that once you've downloaded the app on your iPhone, you'll have to sign in to your Office 365 account. You can then access, view and edit your Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint documents from anywhere.

Among first things, Microsoft claims that the app can be relied on to keep all of your content and formatting intact, so it looks the same when you're accessing the same document on your PC or Mac, and it attributes this to the fact that the app supports charts, animations, SmartArt graphics and shapes.

Microsoft further claims to have made it easy for iPhone users to access their Office content on the cloud on SkyDrive or SkyDrive Pro. iPhone users will be able to find content they viewed on their computer in the Recent Documents panel on the app. In addition to that, those using the Office Mobile app on their iPhone will be able to view and edit Office documents sent to their email.

White adds further that the app has been optimised for the iPhone's screen. She explains that the Slide Navigator on the app allows users to navigate through their PowerPoint presentations quickly, while SpeakerNotes help users practice their presentations on the go. In addition to that, those reviewing their Word documents on their phone will notice that the Resume Reading feature of the app will take them to the exact point in the document where they were last.

The app additionally comes with sharing features built in. Users can make quick edits to their documents and share them right from their phone with Office Mobile. When collaborating with others, users can review comments in Word and Excel documents on their phone and add their own. Upon making changes, users can save directly to SkyDrive or SkyDrive Pro or simply send it as an email attachment.
