Mirror’s Edge may not have been a commercial success but it spawned a huge fan base with its innovative first person Parkour based gameplay. Of course since it didn’t sell too well it was considered a dead IP even though fans have been praying for a sequel. There have been a few rumours regarding Faith’s resurrection from EA’s side but none of them have really picked up any steam. A while back EA Games President Frank Gibeau expressed an interest in bringing the franchise back using none other than Frostbite 2, the same engine powering DICE’s Battlefield 3.
Come back Faith
Now it seems DICE are actually considering bringing Faith and her acrobatic ways back in a way that would be acceptable to today’s gamer. Speaking to Spong.com, DICE’s Patrick Liu said the team has learnt from its mistakes and are capable of improving on them in a bid to appeal to a broader audience.
While this is good news to fans of the series, I wouldn’t really hold my breath at this piece of information as DICE are working overtime to get Battlefield 3 ready for its October 25th release date.
