Mobile browsing now accounts for 1.3% of all browsing. Data released by web metrics provider Net Applications shows that browsing on mobile devices was the big gainer in the year-end holiday season. Both Windows and Mac devices lost ground. Mobile Operating systems, on the other hand, gained from the increased net usage. Overall mobile browsing jumped up from around 0.57% of total net usage in February 2009 to 1.35% by December. Gaming consoles also moved up during this period from .03% to .05%. Consequently desktop browing share declined from 99.28% in February to 98.36% by the end of the year.
