Barely two weeks after the eighth beta of Firefox 4 was released, beta version 9 is out in the wild. The last beta came with Firefox Sync, HTML5 improvements and better security, but this latest one focuses on completely different features.
Firefox Beta 9 boasts of quicker startups and better bookmarking, history and animations. There aren’t much changes to the UI or design, so it looks like we’re getting closer and closer to a release candidate, or even a final release which might happen as early as next month.
Here’s what the release notes have to say about the key features:
- Overhaul of the bookmarks and history code, enabling faster bookmarking and startup performance
- Per-compartment garbage collection is now enabled, reducing work done during complex animations
- See the complete changelist from the previous beta
The beta can be downloaded on the Firefox website, just click here. Do let us know what you think about this beta if or when you check it out.
