Google, via its GoogleMobile blog, has introduced a new and improved Google search engine interface that will make Google search bigger, easier and quicker for tablets. Search page layouts have become simplified and the size of page contents like text, buttons and other touch targets have been increased for a faster and easier browsing experience in both portrait as well as landscape mode.

The search button allows a quick view for more refined results like Videos, Shopping, Places and Images. For image results, Google has provided for larger previews, something similar to what Google search looks like currently on desktops, along with a continuous scroll option and quicker loading of thumbnail images.
The above update is available in 36 languages for users with the iPad or tablets running on Android 3.1+. It’s good to see Google focussing on minor issues and tweaks that help improve user experience across all platforms. What seems disappointing is that it's currently supported only by the newest 3.1 update for Android. As a contrast, this feature has been rolled out to even the older, Apple iPad devices. However, it's likely that Google will introduce support for more devices in the near future.
