Nikon had launched a range of cameras, earlier this year and after a short wait, the brand recently announced the launch of their latest COOLPIX collection for Spring Summer 2012 featuring 13 compact cameras. The most interesting feature of these models is that they now come equipped with a Hindi menu, specifically catering to the Indian audiences, allowing virtually anyone to use any of the cameras without any difficulty. Nikon states that this Spring Summer range is ideal for any type of family adventure from the sidelines to the backyard. The COOLPIX spring series line up offers a simple, convenient and fun way to capture great photos and HD movies with ease. These 13 new models together with the existing 6 takes the COOLPI X range to a total to 19 chic and colourful cameras.
Nikon states that they once again revolutionize the idea of photography by designing cameras that offer stylish designs, vibrant colours and are equipped with easy functionality. All the new models are equipped with NIKKOR lenses and feature the Hindi Menu along with the HD functionality that caters to the varied customer’s demands across India. The COOLPIX P-series models of cameras, which comprise of the COOLPIX P510 and COOLPIX P310 feature some of Nikon’s advanced technologies. The COOLPIX P510 features 42x optical zoom covering 24mm wide angle through 1000mm super telephoto, along with a built-in GPS and logging function to record location data and creates a log of the user’s route. The other camera from this series, the COOLPIX P310 features an advanced built-in lens-shift vibration reduction (VR) function and an effective 16.1-million pixel count.
The COOLPIX S-Series, include 7 new models, namely the COOLPIX S9300, S9200, S6300, S4300, S3300, S2600 and S30 that will set a new benchmark for stylish functionality. The features, include a built-in GPS function, a high-power optical zoom ranging from 3x to 18x that utilizes thin optics and an effective 10.1million pixel to 16.0-million pixel count for superior image quality. The COOLPIX L-Series comprising of 4 models, include the COOLPIX L810, L310, L26 and L25 cameras come with varied features, such as a wide-angle 22.5mm to telephoto 585mm coverage and high power optical zoom lenses to automatic shooting functions.

At the event Panasonic had an experience centre allowing those present at the event to have a quick hands-on with the models on display. One interesting mention is that the Nikon S2600, which is the first camera from Nikon that features artwork on the body. This adds to the style factor that is present in this entire range of cameras.
All 13 new COOLPIX models are available across India with the S Series being priced between Rs.5,950 to Rs.18,950, the L Series ranging from Rs.4,990 to Rs.15,450 and their P Series being available at a price of Rs.23,950 for the P510 and Rs.16,950 for the P310.
