With a forecasted global turnover of more than 100 million USD within 2010, the Indian videogames scenario is one of the most important emerging markets in the world. With a very young populace, and being one of the largest English-speaking countries, the potential for the video gaming industry is huge in India. We've already seen investments of big players such as Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and EA and the market has increased 7 times 2007 and 2010, from 17 to 120 million USD.

This rapid growth has been fostered also by falling prices of software and hardware (PlayStation 2 dropped price from Rs 11,000 to 6,.000, PlayStation Portable from Rs 18,000 to 9,000, PlayStation 3 from Rs 40,000 to 21,000, Nintendo Wii from Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 18,000, by better management of retail games zones, improvements in distribution and the growth of software localized contents.
