Only yesterday we saw the X7 being caught in a leaked promo and it shouldn’t really come as a surprise that the smartphone has now gone official. There’s also the E6 which we saw almost two weeks back showing 720p video recording capabilities. Both these smartphones are coming with the Symbian update called Anna.

The X7 has an AMOLED screen encased in Gorilla Glass and is powered by a 680 MHz ARM 11 processor and a Broadcom BCM2727 GPU to give a boost to the graphics. Here are the specifications of the X7:

  • 4-inch touchscreen with 16M colours and 360 x 640 pixels resolution
  • 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS with A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP
  • 8 Megapixel camera with fixed focus and Dual LED flash
  • 3.5 mm audio jack
  • Stereo FM with RDS
  • Memory expandable up to 32 GB

The smartphone also has an Active noise cancellation feature with dedicated mic and there’s support for media formats like XviD, DivX, MP4, H.264 and many others as well. The X7 is pre-loaded with Quick Office document viewer and Adobe Reader along with Flash Lite 4.0 support for flash content.

The E6 is a business handset that has both a QWERTY keypad and a touchscreen for inputs. The smartphone also has a pre-installed JoikuSpot Premium app which lets you use the handset as a Wi-Fi hotspot. A look under the E6’s hood shows the following specifications:

  • 2.4-inch TFT touchscreen with a resolution of 640 x 480 pixels
  • 3G, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi hotspot, GPS with A-GPS
  • Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP
  • 8 Megapixel camera with fixed focus and Dual LED flash

  • 3.5 mm audio jack
  • Memory expandable up to 32 GB

Both these smartphones will be running on Symbian Anna OS and all the older Symbian^3 models like the N8 and E7 should be getting an over the air update soon. The X7 is priced at $550 (approx Rs. 24,500) and the E6 should set you back by $500 (approx Rs. 22,200). Let’s hope we see both handsets touching Indian shores sooner than later.
