Update – According to our sources, Nokia has not yet officially launched the PureView 808. They have not confirmed the exact date of the launch, either, but have told us that it will be arriving in stores soon. The Price that seems to have been listed as INR29,999 is also unverified by Nokia and it is very possible that it could quite different. We will have to wait awhile till Nokia makes an offcial statement.

Nokia has finally launched their 808 PureView Symbian smartphone at a price tag of INR29,999 however to get an update on this infromation check here. Although the smartphone has reportedly been launched, it is not yet up for purchase on Nokia India's official store, nor in regular retail stores, but our sources tell us that it will be soon. There has been a lot of back and forth lately, regarding the pricing of the Nokia 808 PureView, which is the more anticipated Symbian handsets to be talked about in recent times. The price of this handset became the topic of intense discussion when it first popped up. Nokia, later rubbished reports citing the dummy price. However the dummy price, as it turns out, was indeed accurate.

We had the opportunity to play around with a prototype of this handset and it left us more than impressed. The phone supports 1080p recording at 30fps, time interval shooting (for timelapse videos), instant sharing to Facebook, 38 megapixel shots and an option to choose between 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios. With the PureView, Nokia has also introduced lossless digital zoom and it worked like a charm on the phone.
