The wait is finally over and Nokia have officially launched the Lumia 800 and Lumia 710 in India. This is no regular launch and Nokia is certainly going over and above to promote the handsets on our humble shores. The Nokia Lumia 800 and 710 handsets are the first smartphones from Nokia to run on the Windows Phone OS as opposed to the Symbian OS used on their previous mobiles. Stylish looks and OS aside, Nokia is really pushing for the success of the Lumia 800. We saw a video earlier of how Deadmau5 rocked London with awesome 4D visuals to promote the handset. In India things are no different with the smartphone manufacturer having events in 6 cities across India.

According to a report by the Economics Times, Nokia’s The Amazing Everyday campaign in India is one of the brands biggest marketing endeavors with there being impromptu dance performances by foreign troupe in Mumbai, no toll fee for 15,000 cars on the DND Freeway in Delhi, helicopter rides for consumers in Chennai, Bangalore and Hyderabad and many more promotions. The report goes on to state that Viral Oza, Marketing Director of Nokia, India said, “It's a gamechanger for us. We have redefined what we mean to the consumers.”

Nokia has priced the Lumia 800 at Rs. 29,999 and the Lumia 710 at Rs. 18,999. It is no news that Nokia has lost ground in the smartphone game but hopefully for the Finnish mobile manufacturer, these handsets can put them on the right track once again.
