Nokia has launched its former flagship smartphone, the Lumia 900, rather quietly in India. The smartphone is available for Rs 32,999 on Flipkart, while Infibeam is selling the device for Rs 32,490.

Admittedly the device is a little obsolete compared to its latest offering Lumia 920. For full features of Lumia 920 click here.

The Lumia 900, which has a 4.3-inch AMOLED ClearBlack glass touchscreen, and 8-megapixel camera, hasn’t had a very successful run as the company was forced to cut the price of the device by nearly 50 percent in the US market.

Key features of the Nokia Lumia 900 include a single core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm processor, 512 MB RAM and 16 GB memory. There’s also a 1 megapixel secondary camera in the front for video chat. Lumia 900 runs on Windows OS 7.5. Nokia also claims that the smartphone has “all day battery life, up to 8 hours talk time, up to 400 hours standby.”

The major issue for Nokia is that with the launch of Windows 8, the old range of smartphones won’t be upgradeable to the new OS. This means that a lot of new apps and features might not be available for users. However Nokia has assured, consumers that the Lumia 900 will receive a new, updated user interface, new features, apps and upgrade to Window 7.8.

Nokia says the Lumia 900, 800, 710 are also going to get the new augmented reality app, City Lens, which will let users point their Lumia smartphone cameras to restaurants, hotels, etc to find out reviews about the place.

No word still on when the Nokia Lumia 920 will be released in India but we should know more after the official Windows 8 release on 26 October.
