Even though we really haven't seen the OlivePad on shelves or anyone using it, it's still a touch of pleasant news that the tablet's getting an OS upgrade. When we reviewed it, it was running Android 2.1 (eclair) and now it's coming packed with Froyo (Android 2.2). This means the device will support USB tethering and will be a portable wi-fi hotspot. Since we reviewed it, it's also gotten a final price tag. It's going to sell for Rs. 25,990 (inclusive of taxes).

The OlivePad now runs on Froyo

The tablet will come with a 16 GB micro SD card, a leather case, 6 month subscription via Zenga TV and lifetime navigation by MapMyIndia. According to Olive, the tablet is available at Croma stores around the country and also via their website, www.olive.net.
