It’s essential for developers and designers of web pages to be able to preview their work on the devices they are developing it for. This is often a lengthy process. Opera has launched a emulator that lets users preview their work on a PC without having to open the content on a mobile device.

Opera launched the emulator to work with the Opera Mobile 11 browser, which was released for the Symbian and Android mobile phones and tablets. The browser emulator is available for Windows, Linux and Mac OS platforms. The emulator allows users to choose the mobile device or tablet, the resolution and finally the kind of input. Device profiles can also be save for use in the future. There’ s also tight integration with Opera’s Dragonfly tool that allows developers to monitor quality and performance statistics for their sites. The same settings options and features such Opera Link and Opera Turbo, that are available on the mobile browser are also available in the emulator. The tool is freely available for download on Opera’s site.
