Rockstar has announced the release date for the next DLC pack for its Brazil-based third person shooter, Max Payne 3. The upcoming DLC, named the Painful Memories Pack, is set to bring four new maps, among other things, to the Max Payne 3 Multiplayer on December 4.

The DLC is inspired by the shootouts from Max's past. You can revisit the subway shootout from the first Max Payne game in the Roscoe Street Subway map. The watering hole from Hoboken makes a return in the Marty's Bar map, the Branco family yacht is featured in the Shoot First map, and you can wage gang wars in the Canal De Panama map. The DLC will also feature new weapons, which include the IMG 5.56 and UAR-21 assault rifles. Other new additions include new avatars, items and the Hangover Burst, which will cause enemies to respawn with blurred vision, reduced stamina, and health.

The DLC will be available for Xbox Live players for 800 Microsoft Points, and PC and PlayStation 3 players can grab it for $9.99 (approximately Rs 555). The DLC will be available to owners of the Rockstar Pass for no additional charge.

Back in August, Rockstar had released the Local Justice Pack for PC gamers. The pack of the successful third person shooter game features three new maps for Max Payne 3’s multiplayer – The Imperial Palace, Departure Lounge and 55th Battalion HQ. The upcoming DLC also introduces some new weapons such as the M4 Assault Rifle. Also added in the pack are Light Fingers items and a new Sao Paulo Police faction for the multiplayer.

Buyers of the standard PC version of Max Payne 3 will also be able to get their hands on all the pre-order and retail downloadable content, which includes the Cemetery Multiplayer Map, the Silent Killer Loadout Pack, the Pill Bottle Item, the Deadly Force Burst and the Classic Max Payne 1 character.

The Max Payne 3 Special Edition Pack is also available for the Xbox 360 for 160 Microsoft Points, and on the PlayStation 3 for $1.99, both of which cost roughly Rs 110. The Special Edition Pack includes the Classic Multiplayer Character Pack of eight playable multiplayer characters, which are fan favourites from previous games, including Mona Sax, Vladimir Lem and Max Payne 2. It also includes the Disorderly Conduct Multiplayer Weapons Pack, which has the Hammerhead Auto Shotgun, the G9 Grenade Launcher and Molotov Cocktails. Both of these packs were previously only available from the Max Payne 3 Special Edition. It will be available to PC users simultaneously with the launch of the Local Justice Pack on August 9.

Players who have already bought the Max Payne 3 Rockstar Pass will be getting all these packs, and all future Max Payne 3 DLC free of charge. The Rockstar Pass is available right now from the in-game store for $29.99 and 2,400 Microsoft Points on Xbox Live, which amounts to roughly Rs 1,600.

Max Payne 3 came out on the current generation of consoles and PC ten years after Max Payne 2. The PC version of the game ships on 4 DVDs and costs Rs 999.
