If latest reports are to be believed, then popular electronics brand, Panasonic is fast working on building up its own smartphone range, thereby renewing its old plans, confirms a report in Electronista. According to the report, Panasonic has been holding talks with a certain carrier brand, operating within Europe, alongwith revealing operational plans for Asia and North America. Although much hasn't been written about the hardware on the smartphones, it is learnt that they would be powered by Android.

The report further states that Panasonic is certainly dreaming big with this one, since it aims to sell about 7.5 million units of their smartphone, outside of Japan. The Japan-based company will either handover the onus of making the smartphones to a contractor, or to one of its plants located in South-East Asia.

However, all this being said all other details on the smartphones are awaited.
