An update to Pinterest now allows users to send pins directly to their Facebook friends, fellow pinners (if both follow each other), or email contacts on the web or their phone. Earlier it was possible to send pins via email, but Pinterest has added more ways to do it now, courtesy the update.
Send pins to friends
While sending pins, users can also add a message to their pin, for a more personal touch.
To send a pin, all users have to do is tap 'Send' on the web or on their phone. For easy access, Pinterest will even display the most recent people that a user has sent pins to.
Once a user sends a pin, the recipient of the pin will see it in their notifications or in their email. If they repin, like or comment on the pin, the user will get notifications too. Pinterest will be rolling out the changes in the weeks to come.
This update comes only days after Pinterest updated its Android and iOS apps. On the updated Pinterest app, Android and iOS users will be able to see who's commented on their pin or mentioned them, on their mobile devices. Also included in the update are push notifications that will tell users what's happening without them having to launch the app.
Pinners can now mention people from their phone. How do you go about doing it? Hit @ and start typing the name of the person you want to mention. Pick the name and that contact will be notified that you have mentioned them.
