Sony India has chopped down the existing Rs. 9,450 price of the PlayStation Portable by over 15% to Rs. 7,990. This price drop is for the PSP3000 model and was announced by Atindriya Bose, Country Manager SCEE, in an interview with Financial Chronicle.

Bose also said the company would release three games for the Indian market – namely Cart Kings, Chandragupta Warriors and Battle Royal. Out of these, Battle Royal will feature characters from Amar Chitra Katha and will surprisingly be a strategy game.

This price was drop was a long time coming, to be honest. With the launch of the Next Generation Portable, and with the Nintendo 3DS now being available in India, any later and Sony would’ve been in trouble. So yeah, if you or anyone you know is going to purchase a PSP anytime soon, make sure the price is right!
