Canadian Telecommunication and Wireless device company, Research In Motion and Ingram Micro Inc. have just announced a partnership, and are working together to provide corporate customers and SMBs with mobility solutions. Research In Motion (RIM) is a global leader in wireless innovation and are popularly known for their BlackBerry smartphones. Ingram Micro Inc; on the other hand is the world's largest technology distributor and a leading technology sales, marketing and logistics company based in India. By this partnership, RIM and Ingram Micro will distribute the full portfolio of BlackBerry enterprise solutions in India, including smartphones, accessories, software and technical support services. The enterprise offerings include mobile solutions to boost productivity, increase sales performance and improve customer service.
RIM and Ingram Micro join forces
Speaking in regard to this partnership, RIM’s Freddy Bawa, Managing Director in India stated that, “This was an exciting initiative for RIM as the enterprise market is evolving in India.” With RIM’s market leading products and services and Ingram’s expertise as a world leader in the distribution of IT solutions, they are confident of providing a unique value proposition for enterprise customers in India, along with broad availability across the market.
Further to offering BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) and associated BlackBerry Technical Support Services, Ingram will also offer BlackBerry Mobile Voice System (BlackBerry MVS), which integrates a user's corporate phone system with a BlackBerry smartphone to provide single number reachability and extension dialing, as well as corporate phone system features like hold, transfer and ad-hoc conferencing.
The companies claim that with a strong sales force of more than 1000 VARs, RIM and Ingram are taking the lead in helping companies to intelligently plan and implement customized yet secure business solutions that support today's business objectives and grow seamlessly to cost-effectively handle tomorrow's expanded company operations.
