The RIM PlayBook made an appearance amidst sloppy reviews. Hitting stores in North America today, the PlayBook has hit the C (read controversy) button, just too early in the day.

Not a fair Play!

Not a fair Play!

One of the biggest drawbacks found in the PlayBook was the lack of e-mail provision in it. The product, unlike its contemporaries has hit troubled waters with the reviewers, who slammed every aspect of the debutante. Also, the PlayBook was found to be way too dependent on the BlackBerry smartphone for its mail connections. Also, it lacked in the apps aspect, too. Several reviews pointed out that the PlayBook heavily lacked in third-party apps. If it wasn’t criticized enough already, the battery life, too looked questionable to most.

The PlayBook, however, comes with superior front and rear cameras. Reviewers also applauded the viewing experience enhanced by an output connector that’s lets you watch hi-definition videos on your television. But, the video chatting software was conspicuous by its absence. RIM, though, did mention its plans of making several additions post-launch.
