With all those roadmaps that we’ve seen pertaining to RIM’s future devices and software, it looks like the current OS 6.1 also deserves some love after all. There’s a leak of how the User Interface of the Mobile HotSpot will look like for BlackBerry smartphones. Then there’s another picture of IP Modem tethering where you don’t require any software to play interface with the smartphone, instead the interface will be on the smartphone itself.
That's how it's gonna look like, guys
You can connect up to 5 devices through the hotspot feature and management of all connections is done through the display on the host device itself. NFC connectivity can also be managed by the user itself with the option to toggle it on/off. There’s auto shutdown after 10 minutes of user inactivity and limited Bluetooth functionality.
And now you can tether without any pre-requisite software
On the other hand, the IP Modem tethering has an interface on the device and connections can be made through Bluetooth, USB or Wi-Fi. It definitely means that tethering your BlackBerry smartphone becomes a lot easier now. So that’s quite a bit of value addition for the OS 6.1 users, at least till OS 7 comes in.
