South Korean electronics giant Samsung has launched its entry-level Galaxy Star smartphone in the Indian market. The company has priced this smartphone at Rs 5,240 (MRP).
The Samsung Galaxy Star smartphone runs Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) OS. The smartphone is fuelled by a 1200 mAh battery. It comes with 512 MB RAM and 4GB internal memory.

The Galaxy Star comes bundled with Intelligent Motion UI that maximises smart features for the most responsive, intuitive user experience. For example, shake the device to refresh and update, mute volume by simply flipping device etc. The smartphone also employs Samsung's “Smart Dual SIM” feature, which enables the user to receive calls on one SIM while taking a call from the other, .
The Galaxy Star comes preloaded with ChatOn, Samsung’s cross-platform communication service, and others such as Google Search and Google Now. It is also embedded with the Samsung Apps store.
The Galaxy Star is being launched with a free data offer from Vodafone – 250 MB per month for 2 months .The offer is applicable on Vodafone 2G on purchase of Samsung Galaxy Star till July 31, 2013 .
