We’ve all had our share of those classroom lectures where the teacher’s screaming on top of her voice but the kids are plain bored. Today’s children can benefit from what Samsung calls ‘Smart Solutions’ for the education segment.
This initiative from Samsung is broken down to Smart Classroom where there are large displays to showcase digital content, Smart Teacher and Smart Student that lets teachers and students access data pertaining to their line. For e.g. Teachers can plan out daily attendance, structure their courses and students can access syllabus and study material on the internet, all with the help of the Galaxy Tab.
Not to forget, there’s also a Smart School solution for students in professional colleges that gives them access to NotePCs and thin clients. While we already know what the Galaxy Tab is all about, let’s take a look at their blackboard replacement, namely an Interactive E-board model called the 650TS.
Samsung 650TS is a Touchscreen display with some features bundled with it. There’s an in-built PC with embedded Windows XP to manage content. There’s also a built-in 15 W stereo speaker for playing audio. The display itself is supposed to be anti-dust and anti-image retention control which prevents image ghosting.
Samsung plans to roll out this initiative in the following nine cities: Delhi/NCR, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Kolkata, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chennai and Ahmedabad.
