May 3rd will mark the day that Samsung will raise the curtains on their next flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S III. Over the last few hours there has been a ton of information regarding the handset and it has certainly grabbed a fair share of the spotlight as far as tech news goes. The biggest bit of information is when a leaked prototype of the handset surfaced with a Vietnamese website getting a hands on with what they claim is the next flagship. Along with the video, a lot of details had been revealed regarding the smartphone. However, as per a report by CNET, who have got the information via a Korean news website, Maeil Business, it seems that the flagship smartphone is not the only thing on Samsung’s agenda come May 3rd.

S-Cloud service along with the next Galaxy?

As per the report, Samsung is also moving into the cloud space and at the event in London; the brand will also raise the curtains on their cloud based service, S-Cloud. This service is designed to directly compete against the likes of Apple’s iCloud. The website states, “Korean news outlet Maeil Business is reporting today, citing a leaked Samsung “consolidation plan,” that Samsung will unveil an iCloud competitor, called S-Cloud, at its May 3 event in London. As with iCloud, S-Cloud will allow users to send content up to the cloud and sync that across multiple devices. However, the news outlet says that S-Cloud won't come with the content-uploading limitations found in Apple's offering.”

The Korean news outlet also goes on to mention that Samsung may have partnered with Microsoft to offer this cloud-based service and to ensure that the global launch goes well. The brand has not responded to the website's request for a comment but talks of Samsung launching a cloud based service have been in circulation since February and it was believed that they would be launching S-Cloud by August.

As of now, this bit of information is not set in stone and it could be mere rumours. One thing is for certain is that we will see the Samsung Galaxy S III being unveiled in London on May 3rd, making it an exciting event as the world will finally see what this much awaited handset will look like and feature.
