Samsung is on a roll. A few hours back we heard of the company launching the Samsung Cooper in India. Now we have news of Samsung announcing the Star II (aka S5260). Two years back, we had the Samsung Star 3G and looks like the Star II is set to be its successor.
GSMArena has live images of the phone and the phone is said to have TouchWiz UI, but doesn’t support 3G connectivity. It shouldn’t be much of a problem as 3G is not full-fledged in the country anyway. The rest of the specs are as follows:
- 3-inch Capacitive Touchscreen
- Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n
- Bluetooth 3.0 with A2DP
- 3.15 Megapixel camera
- Memory expandable up to 16 GB
Other than this, the Star II’s phonebook has SNS integration and Facebook and Twitter apps are pre-installed. The phone also supports Facebook chat, Yahoo Messenger, Gtalk and AIM. S5260 has some support for music with DNSe support and music recognition.
Although the price is not mentioned, the phone should launch in Germany next month with other countries, including India, to follow.
