Samsung Electronics, today announced the launch of its new, Smart cameras across WB, ST, ES and DV series. Beautifully-styled and powerful, the new models deliver flawless images, while a host of fun features help inject maximum creativity into everyday shots. The new launches are the WB100 with a 26x high zoom lens, the ST200F and DV300F with Wi-Fi connectivity and the ST66, DV100 and ES90 that gives the range a classic, premium look that conveys a refined sense of style. Samsung states that all models are compact enough to fit into any pocket and be taken anywhere to capture spontaneous moments, whether at the club, the beach or just while spending time with friends.

Samsung WB Series
Samsung’s WB100 camera comes with an impressive feature list, but with an ease of use that makes it an appealing option for an early camera enthusiast looking to upgrade. Along with a 16 Megapixel image sensor, the Samsung WB100 sports a 26x optical high zoom lens and 22.3mm ultra wide-angle lens. Photographers who wish to capture moving images will be assisted by Samsung’s Dual Image Stabilisation (OIS + DIS) function that helps compensate for unsteady photographs.
High-definition 720/30pHD video can also be captured, with any footage being able to be viewed on the high-definition display, enabling the user to make sure they are completely happy with the results before sharing with friends and family. There’s also a 3D photo capture and Live Panorama Mode to play around with. It also comes with Smart Filter and Magic Frame creative features for a fun shooting experience. Samsung’s long-zoom camera has a metallic design and has a soft hand grip. Instead of li-ion battery, the WB100 uses AA batteries, making it an ideal camera for travellers. Samsung DV Series
The DV300F is the first DualView camera from Samsung to feature built-in Wi-Fi functionality. With built-in Wi-Fi, users can share and store all their special moments instantly by uploading them to Facebook, Picasa etc., or e-mail them directly from the camera. In addition, images can be directly sent to a user’s smartphone and tablet wirelessly using Samsung Mobile Link or Auto Backup function. The integrated free storage space from Samsung’s AllShare Play and Microsoft Sky Drive allows the trigger-happy photographer to make photos accessible anywhere thereby improving the ability to share photos.
The DualView Samsung DV300F is a 16 Megapixel camera, with a 1.5-inch front LCD screen display for easier self-portraits, a 3-inch rear LCD screen, a 25mm wide angle lens, an impressive 5x optical zoom with OIS and a F2.5 lens that delivers professional quality images even in dim light. The camera also offers a 720p HD video recording at 30 frames-per-second, a wide range of special effects, and the intelligent Smart Auto feature, which automatically adjusts the camera’s settings. Fun features such as Motion Photo, Picture in Picture and Split Shot let you create and share fun, artful images and videos in a snap.
The brand states that it is perfect for every photographer as the DV100 dual LCD digital camera is loaded with smart features and is compact enough to go with you everywhere. It has a 16.1 Megapixel CCD sensor and HD video recording that can capture every detail. Plus, the DualView screen gives you one 3-inch LCD on the back and a 1.5-inch screen on the front for cool portrait shots. Samsung DV100 also features a 5x optical zoom lens, digital image stabilization, Smart Face Recognition, Smart Filter 2.0 with Movie and Smart Auto features. Samsung DV300F and DV 100 are available at Rs. 12,400 and Rs. 8,900 respectively.

Samsung ST Series
The ST200F is a compact camera, but still packs a punch with a 10x optical zoom lens along with a 16-megapixel CCD image sensor and built-in Wi-Fi connectivity. Samsung states that its sleek (18.9mm) and durable metal body is available in black or silver, and houses a 3.0-inch TFT LCD display, 720p HD video capabilities, a USB 2.0 interface, optical image stabilization and a host of exposure modes and options. The top plate of the camera has the power button, microphone, shutter release, and zoom toggle. The ST200F’s Wi-Fi connectivity allows it to push content to social media sharing sites or directly online via e-mail. The camera can also integrate with smartphones, using them as a combination remote viewfinder, shutter release, and controller.
Artistic innovations such as in-camera editing options, Motion Capture, Live Panorama allow you to explore other creative avenues. For storage, this device includes 16 MB of internal memory and a microSD card slot (up to 64 GB with microSDXC).
The ST66 digital camera is the pairing of a 16.1 Megapixel image sensor and a 5x optical zoom lens, in a brushed metal body. Features of the Samsung ST66 include a 2.7-inch display on the rear panel, Live Panorama function and Smart Auto 2.0 mode which selects from a variety of scene modes, and identifies one that's closest to the current conditions, then configures the camera appropriately helping keep things simple for less experienced photographers.
Some unique features include a Magic Frame function (which overlays your image on a background, with options including Wall Art, Full Moon, Magazine, and Holiday), and a Picture-in-Picture mode that lets you overlay of one shot on another, choosing an area where the second image should be visible. Perhaps most curious though is the Funny Face function, which uses face detection to locate facial features and then uses 5 different ways to warp them in real time on the live preview. By using the multi-controller on the camera's rear, you can create effects such as making your subject's head or nose larger.
Apart from still image capture, the Samsung ST66 can also record high definition movies. Videos are saved at 720p resolution, with a frame rate of 30 frames per second. The ST200F is priced at Rs.12,400/- while the ST66 is available for Rs.7,900/-.
Samsung ES Series
The new Samsung ES90 is a stylish yet features-loaded affordable camera. It comes with Intelli-Studio 2.0 easy-to-use software that lets you to play, edit, and share image and video files on any PC. Its Smart Auto 2.0 feature lets you capture the perfect shot by analyzing key composition elements and selecting from 15 different photo and 4 different movie modes. This camera has numerous features including CCD sensor with 14.2 Megapixels, 5X optical zoom and 27mm wide angle view which ensures very high quality images. Samsung claims that the ES90 also has 2.7-inch Intelligent LCD which adds to sharp and clear image with fine combinations of colours to make your images more colorful and attractive. Samsung’s ES90 specifications include 16 Scene Smart Auto, 720p HD Movie, Object Tracking AF, Perfect Portrait System and an internal memory of 37MB, expandable memory of 2GB with microSD card and up to 16GB with SDHC. This will ensure adequate storage space for all images of your families, friends and office. Samsung ES90 is priced at Rs. 6,400.
With the addition of these new models, Samsung’s Digital Still Cameras portfolio, Samsung now has a complete lineup of 13 digital cameras priced between Rs. 6,400 and Rs. 15,900.
